There’s something undeniably magical about photographing an engagement session around the exterior of the Fairmont Château Laurier. Its grand archways, soft stone tones, and European-inspired architecture create such a timeless backdrop, and for Laura and Derek, it was the perfect place to celebrate this exciting season of their lives.
We met on a warm summer evening, when the light was soft and golden, gently reflecting off the ivory stone of the hotel. We wandered through the iconic archways as the two of them shared little moments that made documenting their connection effortless. The clean, elegant lines of the architecture beautifully complemented their modern, classic outfits. Her simple white dress and his crisp white shirt and black tie were the perfect pairing for the setting, creating a look that will forever feel timeless.
What made this session even more special is that they would return to this very venue a few months later to say their vows. Photographing their engagement at the Château Laurier felt like the sweetest prelude to their November wedding there.
