There’s something magical about photographing a destination wedding, and Kendra and Nicolas’ celebration at The Princess Grand in Jamaica was nothing short of unforgettable. As an Ottawa wedding photographer who also specializes in destination wedding photography, I had the privilege of traveling with them for the week.
The Setting
The Princess Grand is tucked along the sparkling shores of Negril, with endless ocean views and the kind of sunsets you dream about. We spent our first day at the resort scouting the best locations; beautiful sandy beaches, tropical backdrops, and of course, the resort’s small private island where the ceremony would take place. On the second day, we focused on capturing the charm of the resort itself, along with all the little details Kendra and Nicolas had so thoughtfully chosen for their day. By the time the wedding arrived, we knew exactly how to bring their vision to life.
The Wedding Day
The wedding day itself was warm, sunny, and wonderfully windy. Jamaica showing off its personality. Kendra and Nicolas exchanged vows on the resort’s island, surrounded by ocean water and the people closest to them. Their cocktail hour followed right there on the island.
Later in the evening, everyone gathered for the reception in a top floor indoor hall. The space had access to a rooftop, which gave us the chance to slip away with Kendra and Nicolas for some breathtaking sunset portraits. A quiet moment for them to soak in the beauty of their wedding before joining the party again.
It’s clear from spending time with Kendra and Nicolas that their relationship is built on years of friendship, trust, and joy. Watching them celebrate that love surrounded by their friends and family in such a stunning location was an honour to capture.

A Celebration to Remember
From the tropical island ceremony to the rooftop sunset portraits, every part of Kendra and Nicolas’ wedding felt intentional and deeply personal. For me, blending my role as an Ottawa wedding photographer with the opportunity to capture destination weddings like this one in Jamaica is always such a privilege.
