There’s something so timeless about a barn wedding in the Ottawa Valley, and Brittany and Matt’s Hunt Farms celebration in Renfrew, Ontario, was the perfect example. With only eight months of planning, they created a wedding day filled with rustic charm, heartfelt details, and sweet family moments, all on the most beautiful September day.
From their two young children stealing the show as the flower girl and ring bearer, to sunset portraits in golden fields, their celebration was one that radiated love, warmth, and authenticity.
The Morning: Laughter, Champagne, and Sweet Family Moments
The morning began with so much joy and laughter as Brittany and her bridesmaids got ready together. The ladies popped champagne, shared hugs, and soaked up the excitement of the day. One of the sweetest moments was when Brittany and her daughter jumped on the bed together, a playful memory that perfectly captured the love between this little family.
The Ceremony
Hunt Farms’ rustic charm provided the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. Guests were seated in mismatched farmhouse chairs, creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Brittany walked down the aisle in a stunning Sophia Tolli gown from Simply Beautiful Bridal Boutique, paired with a cathedral-length veil edged in delicate lace.
Matt and his friends, being avid hunters, brought their own unique touch by incorporating a shotgun shell into each boutonniere, a creative and personal detail that made their wedding day feel uniquely theirs.
The couple chose classic white florals with greenery for their décor, which added elegance and timelessness to the barn’s rustic setting.
Sunset Portraits: Fields of Gold
Before the party truly got underway, Brittany and Matt stepped out into the fields surrounding Hunt Farms for golden hour portraits. The wispy beige grasses were glowing in the September light, creating the most romantic, dreamy backdrop. Those few quiet moments together captured exactly what the day was about, connection, love, and the promise of a future together.
The Reception
The reception carried the same blend of rustic elegance and family-centered joy. Long wooden tables filled the barn, decorated simply yet beautifully with greenery and white blooms. The “you & me” light-up sign glowed softly on the dance floor wall, setting the perfect backdrop for laughter, dancing, and heartfelt toasts.
As the sun began to set, the September warmth gave way to a cool evening breeze, inviting everyone to gather closer on the dance floor.
A Wedding Filled with Heart
From the playfulness of their children, to the hugs shared during morning preparations, to the rustic barn charm of Hunt Farms, Brittany and Matt’s wedding day was the perfect blend of timeless, heartfelt, and authentically them.
It goes to show that even with only eight months of planning, when you focus on the love and the moments that matter most, everything comes together beautifully.
Congratulations, Brittany & Matt!
