Lucas and Ashley’s wedding ceremony took place at the St. Mary’s Church in Carleton Place, with an intimate backyard reception to follow. The sun was shining and the air was crisp. It was one of the first days that truely felt like fall. Leaves are just starting to turn so it is the perfect time to still get those summery looking photos. But, we are also able to sneak in a few with some fall colours for a totally different look.
Ashley and Lucas had been dating for two and half years before Lucas decided to ask her to marry him. He made sure to do it in a very “him” way. Lucas ended up asking her while they were out hiking in Calabogie.
Fast forward to their wedding day where Ashley began her day with her sister and mom. She had Kayla Marie do her hair which was a beautifully done braided updo. Her sister and her mom then helped with everything else; getting the dress on, putting on her veil, doing up her heels, etc.
We headed to the church a little bit early so Ashley could do a first look with her dad. This was such a sweet and emotional moment between the two of them. This whole day meant the world to the both of them, he was quite emotional knowing he is “giving away” his daughter. You can truly tell that Ashley and her dad have a special bond.
After their beautiful ceremony we had just enough time to sneak off down to the Riverside Park in Carleton Place! We were able to take some pretty Husband and Wife portraits by the water. We also made sure to take some photos at their reception location because there were little slices of fall hidden in the fields and a beautiful altar for photos as well.
