Jose and Jeff had a beautiful wedding in Ottawa held at the LAGO Bar & Grill. They had decided to do things a little bit different with their timeline. We started the day off at their Air BnB getting ready location, which was a cute little home that was nice and close to their formal photo location.

Jose and Jeff opted to do a first look, which is becoming a much more popular option for many different reasons. We headed over to the Dominion Arboretum, where I got Jeff situated in a location that he wouldn’t be able to see her walking towards him. His buddies had a little fun before she arrived by sneaking up and poking his shoulder to turn around. There were lots of laughs. Once his buddies caught a glimpse of her walking their way, they immediately quieted down and walked away to give them some privacy.

She looked absolutley stunning as she approached him and she told him to turn around once she was close enough, he immidiately went in for a hug. They had their moment and then once they were ready we proceeded with the formal photos. We got ALL the formal photos done before the ceremony except for a couple grandparent images that we would grab as soon as we finished the ceremony.

This is where they did things a little bit different, a lot of times after the first look and formal photos, we head to the ceremony but this time we headed over to an intimate dinner with the closest family and friends, I think there were about 30 of us. Once dinner was over, the ceremony then took place, there were probably about 170 people invited to the ceremony and reception. I thought this idea was a really great idea to keep the food costs down but still have everyone you want to be a part of your day there.

The ceremony room was converted into the reception area in a matter of minutes with tons of dance floor space, some tables for anyone wanting to sit, and some stand up bar tables as well. There were tons of heartfelt speeches that brought tears of joy to many eyes and LOTS of dancing.

Their wedding was on a Sunday and they explained that every Sunday they host a game night or just invite some friends over for the day and they refer to the day as “Sunday Funday” so they wanted to make sure they held their wedding on a “Sunday Funday” as well.
