I went from a fully booked summer to only 6 weddings this year but I thought it would be fun to dedicate this post to all my Bride and Grooms that went ahead and did the damn thing despite covid trying to get in the way of their plans! A common theme between every single wedding is that they all held their wedding in a family members or their own backyard! One of them was always meant to happen in their backyard but the other 5 weddings had to make last minute changes and turn their backyard into a wedding venue!

Hannah & Adam

These two got super creative for their wedding, it happened during the 10 person gathering limit rule so in order to get to see everyone on their day, they had set up time intervals for each bubble to come see them. When the guests arrived they were given their own take home charcuterie box and a bottle of wine! Each guest got a social distance photo and were able to chat and hang out from a far during their time. It was a neat way to have everyone still included in their day! You can see their full day here!

Shika & Zach

These two were able to get married when there was the 50 person gathering limit so they turned their backyard into a luxurious outdoor wedding venue! They had each bubble at their own table and asked that everyone remain seated to avoid up close mingling throughout! They opted to do their pictures at the Watson Mill which not only allowed them to have some time alone away from the wedding but it also provided a super pretty backdrop for all their photos! You can find more info and photos from their day here.

Amy & Brody

Okay you guys, not only did these two have to deal with the covid restrictions but it also torrential down-poured for the entire day except for the window of time we had for photos! These two honestly made the absolute best of the situation and put together such a beautiful intimate wedding! You can find more info and photos from their day here.

Ashley & Lucas

These two got married in the church with just their immediate family, since we were near the water we took advantage of it to get a few photos before heading to their backyard reception, where we found a bit of fall infused colour! With the ever changing rules of covid they had to make some last minute changes on the guest count but in the end it all worked out and they had a beautifully decorated backyard reception to celebrate their evening. You can find more info and photos from their day here.

Shannon & Chad

Okay these two might need to go into wedding planning because they originally postponed and then decided to put together a wedding with a month of time and honestly they did such a good job at putting everything together that you would think they had been planning it all year! They had to change their venue to their parents backyard and reduce their guest count to 25! They seriously made the most out of a less than ideal situation. You can find more info and photos from their day here.

Mackenzie & Scott

Now these two deserve an award for the fastest planning I have ever seen. They originally postponed due to covid and then I think it was the last week of September I received a text “What weekends do you have open in October” the only day that ended up working for everyone was 2 weeks away and they some how managed to put together the most stunning backyard wedding in just TWO WEEKS. How? I will never know… but I was super impressed! You can find more info and photos from their day here.

Some of these lovely people ended up deciding to split their day, so they went ahead and got married this year with a smaller more intimate group and then they are planning to have a larger celebration next year as long as they are allowed to! So, you may see some familiar faces next season in different wedding attire and that is why!
