Chanell and Stephen’s spring wedding held at the Cumberland Belle in Ottawa was stunning. The Cumberland Belle is a historic chapel with cathedral ceilings, stained glass windows, and a clean neutral colour palette throughout that has been converted into the cutest wedding venue. Chanell and Stephen opted for an outdoor ceremony with their reception to follow indoors. Before going into how amazing their day was, I wanted to tell a snippet of their story together.
After high school, Chanell moved a few hours away from her home town to attend college. While she was going to school she ended up meeting Stephen! They ended up moving in together while living in her college town and working there. After a few years, they ended up making the decision to move back to the Ottawa area to be closer to some of Chanell’s family!
On Valentines Day in 2021, Stephen filled their apartment with rose petals and made a heart shape out of tea light candles placed on their coffee table. In the middle of the lit up heart was a beautiful bouquet of roses placed in a vase. Along their window, he had strung up the words “I love you”. When she got home she walked into this beautiful arrangement and with it being valentines day she thought it was just a lovely valentines day surprise. Little did she know, he was going to propose. Of course she said yes! Now, every valentines day will be a little more special knowing it’s their anniversary of officially getting engaged!
A little over a year later, and they are officially husband and wife! YAY! Their wedding day began at the Holiday Inn Express, where they got ready in separate rooms with their friends, sipping on drinks and jamming out to the perfect playlist! Once they were ready, we all made our way over to the Cumberland Belle, where Stephen and Chanell shared a beautiful moment together during their first look. Their ceremony followed, and there were all kind of joyful emotions running throughout the entire ceremony.
After their Ceremony we completed their formal photos with their family and wedding party at the venue. Once we completed all the group photos, we headed off to Barnett Park to take husband and wife portraits by the water! After their portraits, they officially made their grand entrance into their reception and the party began!
These two are a couple after my own heart, they chose to have a food truck for their dinner AND even had a pickle bar! WHATTTT. Obsessed. I am a huge lover of the “non-fancy” foods, I am not sure how else to describe it. Basically, I would be happy to end up with chicken fingers and fries vs. a steak. So, I was pretty much in heaven when that food truck pulled up LOL. These two had the most perfect day and I am so excited to share a sneak peek of their Cumberland Belle Spring wedding below!
